Kapilvastu Police Arrest Prisoner Absconding from Drug Case

Kapilvastu. Police in Kapilvastu have arrested a prisoner who had absconded from prison after being sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in a drug case.

According to the District Police Office Kapilvastu, 33-year-old Ballu alias Bahadur Yadav of Bijaynagar Rural Municipality-4 Dudepur was arrested from Jolai Chowk based on special information.

Yadav was sentenced by the Dang District Court to five years imprisonment and a fine of five thousand rupees in a drug case, and by the Kapilvastu District Court to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of seventy-five thousand rupees in another drug case. According to both verdicts, he was to serve a total of 15 years imprisonment.

According to the police, he had absconded from Dang prison on Bhadra 24, 2082.

The arrested Yadav has been presented before the Kapilvastu District Court and sent to prison after completing the necessary legal procedures, informed Ripendra Kumar Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Information Officer at the District Police Office Kapilvastu.
