Singer Sujan Chapagain Addresses Accusations of Sending Obscene Messages

Kathmandu. Singer Sujan Chapagain, who has been accused of sending obscene messages on social media for the past few days, has broken his silence on the matter.

Chapagain has defended himself after screenshots of his chats, alleging that he sent objectionable messages to various women and girls through Instagram, went viral.

Singer Chapagain, who is currently in Australia for a musical tour, issued a statement on social media stating that some of the things that have come out have made him worried and sad. He admitted that he had exchanged messages with friends he considered close in the past and apologized for the situation that arose from it.

Blaming Manager and Fake Accounts to Evade Responsibility

Defending himself against the accusations, Chapagain claimed that not all the content seen on social media belongs to him. He said, 'Since it is not possible for me to handle my social media alone, social media managers have been managing it at various times, and my initial guess is that it might have been misused at some point.'

He also believes that many fake accounts are active in his name and that wrongdoings may have occurred through them. He called such actions 'unethical and irresponsible behavior' and stated that he would pursue legal remedies.

Will Seek Legal Remedy After Returning to Nepal

Following the publication of controversial chats, Chapagain has been heavily criticized on social media. Especially regarding the obscene conversations with adolescents, the general public has been demanding legal action. Regarding this, singer Chapagain informed that he has already started the necessary investigation process and stated that he will return to Nepal immediately after his musical tour in Australia to seek legal remedies.

He also promised to further strengthen social media literacy in the coming days and not to lose the trust of his audience. 'I apologize for the problems you have faced despite my lack of ill intentions,' he wrote at the end of his statement.

He is currently in Australia for the musical tour of 'Sujan Chapagain and The Infinity'.
