Government Revenue Collection Reaches 75.17% of Target with 19 Days Left in Fiscal Year

Kathmandu. With 19 days remaining until the end of the current fiscal year, the government has achieved 75.17 percent of its revenue collection target. According to the Office of the Controller General of Accounts, which maintains the government's daily budgetary accounts, revenue collection reached Rs 11 kharba 12 arba 48 crore 46 lakh as of Friday.

The government had set a target of collecting approximately Rs 14 kharba 80 arba in revenue for the current fiscal year. In the remaining days, Rs 3 kharba 67 arba 51 crore needs to be collected. For this, approximately Rs 19 arba 34 crore needs to be collected daily.

According to the Office of the Controller General of Accounts, progress on the tax revenue collection front has reached 76.20 percent of the target. While the target for tax revenue was Rs 13 kharba 25 arba 58 crore 39 lakh, Rs 10 kharba 10 arba 16 crore 3 lakh has been collected so far.

Similarly, while the target for non-tax revenue was Rs 1 kharba 54 arba 41 crore 61 lakh, Rs 1 kharba 2 arba 32 crore 43 lakh has been received so far. Furthermore, the target for grants was Rs 53 arba 44 crore 69 lakh, but only Rs 24 arba 11 crore 12 lakh has been received, which is 45.11 percent of the target.

During the same period, Rs 6 arba 50 crore 53 lakh was collected under other receipts. With this, the government's total receipts have reached Rs 11 kharba 43 arba 10 crore 11 lakh, which is 74.54 percent of the annual target.

Similarly, total government expenditure has reached Rs 14 kharba 4 arba 98 crore 86 lakh. This is 71.53 percent of the total target. On Friday alone, Rs 5 arba 36 crore 82 lakh was spent.

According to the nature of expenditure, the current expenditure is 80.42 percent. Out of a total target of Rs 11 kharba 80 arba 98 crore, Rs 9 kharba 49 arba 75 crore 95 lakh has been spent.

Capital expenditure, which is spent on development construction work, has reached Rs 1 kharba 42 arba 23 crore 68 lakh. This is 34.87 percent of the target. The target for capital expenditure for the current fiscal year was set at Rs 4 kharba 7 arba 88 crore 80 lakh.

Likewise, financial management expenditure has reached 83.41 percent. Financial management is spent on the repayment of principal and interest of various loans. The details from the Office of the Controller General of Accounts state that out of a total target of Rs 3 kharba 75 arba 24 crore 20 lakh for financial management, Rs 3 kharba 12 arba 99 crore 23 lakh has been spent.
