Rastriya Swatantra Party Convention: Agreement Efforts Fail, Election to Proceed

Chitwan. Efforts to reach an agreement on officials under the Rastriya Swatantra Party convention have failed. Agreement could not be reached as aspirants sought other responsibilities after giving up one post. 

Chairman Rabi Lamichhane had tried to forge an agreement by holding discussions with the aspirants throughout the night. The Election Commission had not advanced the voting process, stating that agreement efforts were ongoing. However, as the possibility of reaching an agreement has faded, the electoral process will be advanced again. 

Leader Kabindra Burlaoti informed that reaching an agreement has been difficult due to many aspirants for the posts of Vice-Chairman and General Secretary. He stated that although the Chairman tried, an agreement was not reached as the aspirants put forward demands to be settled elsewhere if they had to withdraw their candidacy. 

Election Commission Deputy Chief Ram Gurung informed that the delay was due to the time taken to arrange the proportional list of candidates. With the information that an agreement has not been reached and representatives present in Chitwan also insisting on their right to vote, the possibility of selecting officials through election has increased. 

However, most representatives have already left Chitwan.
