District Reports 93,330 Metric Tons of Boro Rice Production

Kalaiya. This year, 93,330 metric tons of Boro rice have been produced in the district. A production of 93,330 metric tons has been achieved from 18,300 hectares of land cultivated in the district.

Chief of the Agricultural Knowledge Center, Rajanarayan Sah, informed that Boro rice of various varieties was cultivated in 18,300 hectares of land, yielding a production of 5.1 metric tons per hectare.

Agricultural Economist Ganesh Mahara mentioned that the produced rice is being sold in Kalaiya market at Rs 2,000 per quintal, generating an income of approximately Rs 1.86 billion.

Last year, cultivation was done on 18,000 hectares of land, yielding a production of 5.1 metric tons per hectare, resulting in an income of approximately Rs 2.01 billion.
