Birgunj Customs Office Collects NPR 221.78 Billion in 11 Months

Birgunj. Birgunj Customs Office has collected revenue of NPR 221.78 billion in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. The office had set a target of collecting NPR 249.19 billion in revenue in the current fiscal year. However, only 89 percent of the target has been collected in revenue during that period.

Udaysingh Bisht, Information Officer at Birgunj Customs Office, claimed that revenue collection in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year has been encouraging.

"Compared to the first 11 months of the last fiscal year, revenue collection has increased by nine percent, or NPR 17.97 billion, in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year," he said. The office had collected NPR 203.81 billion in revenue in the first 11 months of the last fiscal year.

The Customs Department had set a target of NPR 273.39 billion in revenue collection for the office for the entire year. The office collected NPR 18.44 billion in revenue in the month of Shrawan of the current fiscal year, NPR 20.74 billion in Bhadra, NPR 19.09 billion in Asoj, NPR 17.33 billion in Kartik, and NPR 20.80 billion in Mangsir.

In Poush, NPR 20.20 billion, in Magh, NPR 18.92 billion, in फाल्गुन, NPR 19.34 billion, and in Chaitra, NPR 22.82 billion in revenue was collected. The office collected NPR 21.74 billion in revenue in Baishakh. NPR 22.32 billion in revenue was collected in Jestha. According to the office, goods and commodities worth NPR 890.07 billion have entered through the Birgunj transit point in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.

In the first 11 months of the last fiscal year, goods and commodities worth NPR 770 billion had entered. In the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, goods and commodities worth NPR 99.66 billion have been exported from this transit point to foreign countries. In the first 11 months of the last fiscal year, goods and commodities worth NPR 96.72 billion were exported.
