Weather Forecast: Heatwaves in Terai, Rain in Hills on Asar 11

Kathmandu. On Asar 11, diverse weather conditions will be observed in various cities across the country. Some cities are expected to experience extreme heat and hot winds, while some places have the possibility of rain with thunderstorms and lightning.

Today afternoon, hot winds will blow in Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj. The maximum temperature in Dhangadhi is estimated to reach 38 to 40 degrees Celsius and in Nepalgunj from 39 to 41 degrees Celsius, where the possibility of rain is zero. Similarly, Birendranagar, Ghorahi, Bhairahawa, and Simara will have a hot day today. There is no possibility of rain in these areas in the afternoon.

Bhairahawa's maximum temperature may reach 38 to 40 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning in most of the hilly and mountainous regions of the country in the afternoon. In Kathmandu, light rain with thunderstorms and lightning is expected this afternoon, with a maximum temperature of 28 to 30 degrees Celsius and a 30 percent chance of rain. 

Pokhara, Okhaldhunga, Dhankuta, Biratnagar, Dharan, and Taplejung have a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms in the afternoon. Among these, Janakpur has a high possibility of 60 percent rain in the afternoon, and its maximum temperature is expected to be between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius. Dadeldhura, Dipayal, Jumla, Jomsom, and Siraha also have a possibility of light rain in the afternoon.

Looking at the weather tonight, Dadeldhura, Dipayal, Jumla, Jomsom, and Siraha will have partly cloudy weather and there will be no possibility of rain. Dhangadhi, Birendranagar, Nepalgunj, Ghorahi, and Bhairahawa will have mainly clear skies at night.

The rain is expected to continue in some cities at night. Pokhara, Simara, Kathmandu, and Okhaldhunga have a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms and lightning at night. Biratnagar is expected to have moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning at night with a 60 percent chance of rain.

Similarly, Dhankuta, Dharan, and Taplejung have a 40 percent possibility of moderate rain at night, while Janakpur has a possibility of light rain at night. The lowest minimum temperature at night is forecasted to be in Jomsom, between 11 to 13 degrees Celsius.
