Weather Department Forecasts Moderate Rain with Thunderstorms in Major Cities

Kathmandu. According to the weather forecast released by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology for Thursday, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms in both the afternoon and night. According to the department's data, Pokhara, Kathmandu, and Okhaldhunga have the highest probability of rain in the afternoon, at 80 percent. Similarly, there is a 70 percent chance of rain in the afternoon in Dhangadhi, Dhankuta, Biratnagar, and Taplejung. Today, in the afternoon, the maximum temperature in the Terai cities of Dipayal, Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Simara, and Janakpur is estimated to reach between 34 to 37 degrees Celsius, while it is expected to be the lowest in Jumla, between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.

There will be no significant change in the weather during the night. The bulletin states that the probability of rain in Pokhara and Bhairahawa will increase to 80 percent tonight. The possibility of rain in Kathmandu at night is 70 percent. 

During the night, the minimum temperature in Jomsom will drop to between 14 to 16 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Nepalgunj will be the highest, ranging from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has urged to take necessary precautions and be alert due to the possibility of rain and thunderstorms.
