Three arrested with over 5.8 lakh rupees in cash in Dhading, including a fugitive from Bhimphedi jail

Dhading. An accused who escaped from Bhimphedi jail in Makwanpur during the opportunity of the Janji movement has been arrested again in a theft incident. Police have taken three people, including Rudra Moktan, an accused in a dacoity and theft case, into custody from Adamghat in Dhading with more than 5 lakh 80 thousand rupees in cash.

On Asar 4, around 12:15 PM, 6 lakh rupees in cash were stolen from the house of Buddharam Moktan, a resident of Vaikuntha, Ward No. 2, Kailash Rural Municipality, Makwanpur. Following information received from Palung Area Police Office that Rudra Moktan, 33, was involved in the theft, the police launched a widespread search.

During the search, a police team deployed from Gajuuri Area Police Office, Dhading, checked two motorcycles coming from Kiranchok in Gajuuri-6, Adamghat market around 5 PM on Asar 5. All three people on the motorcycles were arrested with the stolen cash.

Those arrested include the main accused Rudra Moktan from Kailash-2, Makwanpur, Ashok Tamang, 21, from Benighat Rorang-1, Dhading, and Umesh Tamang, 19, from the same place. Police recovered 5 lakh 80 thousand 540 rupees in cash from Rudra Moktan.

Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that the main accused Rudra Moktan has a very long and serious criminal record. He was serving a sentence in Bhimphedi jail, Makwanpur, for a dacoity and theft case. However, taking advantage of the turmoil inside the jail during the Janji movement, he escaped from jail and became a fugitive.
