Nepal Secures Dominant Victory Over Hong Kong in ACC Women's U-19 Premier Cup

Kathmandu. With the all-round performance of captain Sony Pakhrin, Nepal continued its winning streak in the ACC Women's U-19 Premier Cup 2026, securing a spectacular 181-run victory over Hong Kong. 

Chasing the 212 runs set by Nepal in the match held on Tuesday, Hong Kong could only manage 30 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.

In the match held at the M.A. Aziz Stadium in Chittagong, Bangladesh, Hong Kong batters looked helpless against Nepali bowling as they came to the field to chase a huge target. Captain Pakhrin took 4 wickets, conceding only 4 runs in 4 overs.

Similarly, Manisha Upadhyay took 2 wickets, conceding only 1 run in 4 overs. Karishma Gurung and Sneha Mahara took 1 wicket each.

For Hong Kong, Wong Wing Ki Hailey scored 13 runs off 45 balls. Captain Stormy Imesee Parker scored 5 runs. Apart from Hailey, no other batter could score in double digits.

Earlier, Nepal, after losing the toss and batting first, had scored 211 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Team captain Sony Pakhrin played a spectacular innings of 90 runs off 60 balls. She hit 13 fours and 1 six in the process. 

She formed a crucial partnership of 136 runs off 75 balls with opener Savitri Dhami. Dhami also played a half-century innings, contributing 52 runs off just 36 balls. She hit 6 fours. 

Wicketkeeper Alisha Kumari Yadav scored 23 runs off 12 balls. She hit 3 fours. 

Nepal's this is the third consecutive victory in Group D. With the win, Nepal has entered the quarterfinals as the group winner remaining unbeaten. Earlier, Nepal had defeated Singapore by a huge margin of 151 runs in the first match. Similarly, they had secured a spectacular victory over Qatar by 105 runs in the second match.
