Itahari to Construct Largest Convention Center in Koshi Province

Itahari. The largest convention center in Koshi Province will be constructed in Itahari. Financial management for the construction of the AB Hospitality–Wyndham Resort and Convention Center with a capacity to accommodate four thousand people was completed on Wednesday.

The financial closure of the project has been completed in collaboration with Everest Bank Limited and Muktinath Bikas Bank Limited. This project, which is being constructed under the leadership of Deshbandhu Basnet, Chairman of AB Investment Holding, is considered an important infrastructure for the tourism and hospitality sector of Eastern Nepal.

The convention center, to be constructed near Bhatbhateni in Itahari, will be able to host national and international conferences, exhibitions, business programs, and destination weddings. The project is expected to attract organizers from Itahari, Koshi Province, and neighboring countries including India.

According to Basnet, this project will help establish Eastern Nepal as a major center for tourism and business activities. It is believed that upon the operation of the project, thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities will be created, and local businesses, agriculture, services, and tourism sectors will also be supported.

Prabhat Karki, the conceptualizer and manager of the project, mentioned that the convention center is a long-term need for Eastern Nepal, and it will strengthen Eastern Nepal's identity as a tourism and business center connecting Nepal, India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh.
