Sharda Giri and Bishwadeep Ghimire to Receive Durga Devi-Punya Niroula Smriti Puraskar

Kathmandu. Artist Sharda Giri, who has been active in the Nepali film and television industry for over four decades, will be honored with the 'Durga Devi-Punya Niroula Smriti Puraskar'. The executive committee meeting chaired by Mohan Niroula, Chairman of the literary and cultural organization 'Parivartan Nepal', decided to honor Giri with the award in high appreciation of her long artistic journey and contribution. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 15,000.

Director and artist Bishwadeep Ghimire, who has been active in directing and acting in theater, film, and television for over two and a half decades, will also be honored with the same award along with artist Giri. The award selection committee includes Shanti Priya, Sundar Shrestha, and Madhav Kharel. The meeting also announced other awards and honors. Among them, journalist Krishna Bhattarai will be honored with the 'Chetan Karki Smriti Puraskar'.

Similarly, popular actor Aryan Sigdel, actor Ashant Sharma, artist Saroj Oli, and fine artist Devendra Thumkeli, who started their artistic journey with Parivartan Nepal, will be honored with the 'ParivartanKarmí Special Honor'. Furthermore, cinematographer Birendra Prasad Bhatt, who works for the professional rights and welfare of technicians, and Savita Pokharel, active in music journalism and award organizing, will also be honored with the 'Parivartan Special Honor', according to a press release issued by the organization's General Secretary Devendra Pandey.

The organization has stated that the announced awards and honors will be presented at a special event to be organized in the third week of the month of Shrawan.
