Passport Department to Suspend Regular Services for Two Days for System Upgrade

Kathmandu. The Department of Passports has stated that while regular services will be closed for the next two days as it prepares to transition its service delivery to a new system, other services will remain operational. The department issued a notice on Wednesday stating that regular passport-related services will be suspended on Ashadh 25 and 26, but the distribution of passports already prepared at the department will continue.

According to the department, preparations are underway to fully transition from the current system to a new system from Ashadh 29. The department has stated that services are being closed on Ashadh 25 and 26 in view of the work to upgrade the system.

The department has requested service recipients who have already received an informative message on their mobile to collect their passports from the department during that period.

The department has stated that with the implementation of the new system, services will become more effective, secure, and service-user-friendly. The department had previously issued a notice on Ashadh 19 informing about the disruption of services.
