Koshi Province Wins Karate Championship at President Running Shield

Biratnagar. Koshi Province has achieved historic success in the karate discipline at the President Running Shield competition currently underway in Kathmandu.

Koshi Province has become the overall champion in karate by performing excellently in both men's and women's categories.

In the competition for a total of 12 gold medals in karate, Koshi Province alone won 3 gold medals. Along with gold, Koshi also secured 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.

The daughters of Koshi Province performed splendidly in the women's karate category. According to Biplav Ghosh, member secretary of the Provincial Sports Development Board, Koshi won 3 gold medals in the women's category alone. The gold-winning players include Hira Ale Magar in the 45 kg weight category. Similarly, Pranisha Nepal won the gold medal in the 50 kg weight category, and Sashika Ale Magar won the gold medal in the 55 kg weight category.

Likewise, in the 60 kg weight category, Prakriti Gurung contributed to the province's medal tally by winning a bronze medal.

In the men's category as well, Koshi's players competed fiercely and won medals. Pramod Rai won 2 silver medals in the 57 kg weight category and Kata discipline. Similarly, Niroj Thapa in 47 kg and Pushparaj in the 62 kg weight category received bronze medals.

A total of 12 players from Koshi Province participated in the karate discipline. According to the results until Friday afternoon, Koshi Province has already won 4 gold medals in the overall competition, of which 3 gold medals came from karate alone.

Biplav Ghosh, member secretary of the Provincial Sports Development Board, stated that this success of the players has raised the pride of Koshi Province and congratulated the victorious players.
