Russia Claims Four Dead in Ukraine Attacks on Crimea

Crimea. Russia-appointed officials have alleged that at least four people have died in the latest attack by Ukraine on the Crimean peninsula, which is under Russian occupation.

According to the Russia-backed administration, three people died and seven were injured in a single incident in Crimea's capital, Simferopol, in an attack on what were called non-residential structures. This is considered the first fatal attack in this city so far.

In another incident, one person died and three were injured when an attack occurred on a passenger train traveling towards the city of Kerch, said a Kremlin-backed local leader.

Ukraine has not yet given any official reaction on this matter. In recent days, Ukraine has been repeatedly accused of targeting civilian transport in occupied areas. Meanwhile, Ukraine has also been expanding attacks in various places within Russia.

On Wednesday, Ukraine reportedly carried out a drone attack in the outer area of Russia's second-largest city, St. Petersburg. This attack took place a few hours before a major economic conference, aimed at attracting foreign investment to the city, was scheduled to begin.

The St. Petersburg Economic Forum is one of Russia's major political and economic events. Before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, high-ranking officials from Western countries used to participate in this event. However, the participation of Western representatives has significantly decreased after the war.
