Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal to Visit India After Ravi Lamichhane's Return

Kathmandu. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal will visit India on Saturday after RSP Chairman Ravi Lamichhane returns home. Foreign Minister Khanal is going to India at the invitation of Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar to discuss development cooperation between the two countries.

According to House of Representatives member Deepak Bohara, who is in the delegation of National Independent Party Chairman Ravi Lamichhane, Minister Khanal will visit India soon. He did not specify the date of Minister Khanal's visit but said the visit would happen soon.

Yesterday, RSP Chairman Ravi Lamichhane met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In that meeting, Indian Prime Minister Modi expressed readiness to cooperate with the current government of Nepal and requested to provide assistance according to priorities for what tasks can be done from Nepal's side.

It is said that Minister Khanal is going to India to discuss that matter further. During the visit, he is scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Jaishankar, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, and others.

Foreign Minister Khanal's visit to India was scheduled earlier, but the visit was postponed after the program was canceled. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs source said that the visit has now been rescheduled.

RSP Chairman Lamichhane will return to Nepal tomorrow. In India, he held high-level meetings including with Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, and BJP President Nitin Naveen.
