Economic Bill 2083 Removed from Finance Ministry Website Due to EV Tax Error

Kathmandu. The Economic Bill 2083 has been removed from the Finance Ministry's website. The ministry removed the bill from its website after an error was found in the tax rate for electric vehicles (EVs).

The bill, which was placed on the Finance Ministry's website after the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 was made public on Friday, did not mention the customs duty and clean infrastructure investment fee for vehicles in the price range of 2 million to 3 million rupees.

The ministry has already clarified that the infrastructure fee for vehicles in that price range remains at 20 percent. The customs duty for all vehicles is the same.
