Two Dead, Three Injured in Jeep Accident in Achham

Dhangadhi. Two people died and three people were injured in a jeep accident at Thapamod in Panchdeval Vinayak Municipality-4 of Achham on the Mid-Hilly Highway. The jeep, with registration number Ba.Pra.01-02-027 Cha 2277, belonging to Satlok Ashram, Janakpur, was traveling from Dadeldhura to Jumla when it lost control and fell about 200 meters down the road around 6:50 PM on Friday. Naveen Tuladhar, 41, of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City in Makwanpur, and Ram Prakash Tharu, 45, of Bansgadi Municipality-5 in Bardiya, who were seriously injured in the accident, died on Saturday morning. They were declared dead by doctors at 5:30 AM while undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet. A police team from the temporary police post Belkhet immediately rescued the injured and sent them to Rakum Karnali Basic Hospital in Rakum, Dailekh, for treatment. According to the District Police Office, Achham, all the injured were referred to Surkhet for further treatment at 11 PM last night after first aid. According to the police, three other people injured in the accident are undergoing treatment in Surkhet. Sant Kumar Sah, 27, of Kalyanpur Municipality-10 in Siraha district, sustained injuries to various parts of his body and is in serious condition. Rajendra Bhimraj Chattan Gupta, 28, a resident of Nepalgunj in Banke and also the jeep driver, is also in serious condition. Arjun Kumar Poudel, 30, of Fedi Khola Rural Municipality-4 in Syangja, sustained injuries to his head and chest and is in moderate condition, the hospital said. The jeep fell on the unpaved road from Thapamod towards Kunjedada. Further investigation into the incident is underway, the District Police Office, Achham said.
