Government Allocates 2 Billion for Army Housing Upgrade

Kathmandu. The government has continued the army personnel housing upgrade program and allocated funds.

Previously, the Nepali Army was conducting the 'Bunker to Barrack' program. 

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle did not mention the Bunker to Barrack program in this year's budget speech. However, he announced that the army personnel housing upgrade program has been continued and allocated 2 billion for it.

Presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2083-084, Finance Minister Dr. Wagle said, 'I have allocated 2 billion by continuing the housing upgrade program for the Nepali Army personnel.' 

The Finance Minister stated that the historical forts and fortresses maintained by the army will be continued and linked with tourism.
