Nepal Honored as Most Charming Tourism Destination in Guangzhou

Kathmandu. Nepal has been honored with the title of 'Most Charming Tourism Destination' in Guangzhou, China. The award was presented at the Guangzhou International Tourism Fair held in Guangzhou, China from May 21 to 23.

The Nepal Tourism Board stated that Nepal received the award based on its natural beauty, spirituality, cultural diversity, and adventure tourism attractions.

The Nepal Tourism Board coordinated Nepal's participation in the three-day international tourism fair with the slogan 'Nepal: A Lifetime Experience'. At the fair, Nepal provided information about its diverse possibilities in cultural, religious, adventure, outdoor, and luxury tourism to international visitors and travel trade professionals.

Guangzhou city in China is considered a major commercial and tourism center near Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, and is seen as an important market for promoting Nepali tourism. The Nepal Tourism Board has indicated a high potential to attract Chinese tourists, especially in the areas of wellness, religious, cultural, and luxury tourism.

On the opening day of the fair, May 21, a Nepali cultural dance performance and a special presentation on Destination Nepal were organized. Information about Nepali art, culture, and tourism heritage was provided to Chinese visitors and tourism professionals during the program.

During the opening session, Bimal Kandel, Senior Manager at the Nepal Tourism Board, gave a 'Country Presentation' on Nepal's tourism potential, destinations, and promotion strategies. He also participated in a panel discussion on Nepal's tourism market expansion strategy.

Eight tourism business companies from Nepal participated in the fair. The participating companies provided information about packages related to trekking, tours, hotels, and hospitality services to Chinese and international tourism professionals.

Currently, Nepal Airlines Corporation and China Southern Airlines are operating direct flights between Kathmandu and Guangzhou. The Nepal Tourism Board believes that this will help expand tourism access between Nepal and China and increase the arrival of Chinese tourists.
