87,863 Nepalis Contact Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amid West Asia Conflict

Kathmandu. Due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, 87,863 Nepalis have filled out online forms and come into contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that most of them are safe and some have expressed a desire to return to Nepal, and efforts are being made by the concerned bodies to bring them back.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lok Bahadur Chhetri, said that phone calls and messages have also been received at the 24-hour control room at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He stated that so far, 160 phone calls, 50 emails, 110 online messages, and 10 individuals have physically appeared to register their complaints.

Although the number of phone calls and messages has decreased compared to the past, the Ministry has informed that the control room's operating hours have been reduced from 24 hours to 9 AM to 9 PM.

Spokesperson Chhetri stated that the conflict in West Asia is moving towards resolution and that Nepal has been supporting the multilateral efforts being made to remove the Hormuz blockade. The Ministry has also claimed that Nepalis in West Asian countries are safe.
