Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Yadav to seek vote of confidence today

Janakpur. Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Yadav is taking a vote of confidence today. For that, the Provincial Assembly meeting has been called at 1 PM.

Chief Minister Yadav is taking a vote of confidence after a new power equation was formed in Madhesh Province between the Nepali Congress, CPN UML, and Nepal Communist Party.

Chief Minister Yadav reshuffled the cabinet on Thursday after ministers from the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal and Janamat Party resigned. With the cabinet reshuffle, CPN UML has also joined the government. Mohammad Samim from UML has been appointed as a minister without portfolio. He has already taken the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday.

Chief Minister Yadav has stated that the government will be completed after receiving a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly.

Currently, there are 102 provincial assembly members in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly. The government needs the support of at least 52 members to have a majority.

According to the new power equation, the government has the support of a total of 61 provincial assembly members, including 22 from the Nepali Congress, 24 from CPN UML, and 15 from Nepal Communist Party.
