MP Balawati Sharma Criticizes Government Directive on School Hours

Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party MP Balawati Sharma has stated that there is a mismatch between teaching hours and working hours in schools according to the directive issued by the government. Speaking in the ongoing session of the House of Representatives, MP Sharma said that this decision of the government has dealt a severe blow to educational institutions. 

'Will the curriculum for the entire year, and with Sunday off, bring about a qualitative improvement in students' studies?' MP Sharma said, 'The government should either revise and shorten the curriculum. Otherwise, the Sunday holiday is certain to put an additional burden on students.' 

MP Sharma urged the government to reconsider the Sunday holiday, stating that even if 15 days are cut from winter and summer holidays, students will face risks from floods and landslides during the monsoon.
