Congress MP Questions Speaker's Impartiality in Parliament

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Nishkal Rai has questioned the role of Speaker DP Aryal. Speaking in Thursday's House of Representatives meeting, he expressed that although the opposition party is trying to make the government accountable, the Speaker's role is not impartial. 

‘For the past few meetings, the opposition party has been trying to make the government accountable. However, the Speaker's support was not received,’ he said in the parliament. 

He objected, stating that although the Labor Culture Party's Harka Sampang has been showing placards searching for the government for some meetings, the Speaker has called it undignified. 

Recalling that Rastriya Swatantra Party had come wearing blue scarves in the past, he questioned the Speaker, ‘Was that action by yourself parliamentary and dignified, and how is the opposition's placard undignified now?’ He said that both past and present actions are undignified and that the Speaker should maintain the dignity of the house.
