Power Transformer Technical Issue Disrupts Electricity Supply in Tanahun

Tanahun. Electricity supply has been disrupted due to a technical problem in the 12 MVA power transformer with 132/33 KV capacity at the 220/132/33 KV substation located in Markichok, Aabukhairani Rural Municipality-2, Tanahun. According to the Nepal Electricity Authority Tanahun Distribution Center, the line has been disrupted since 5:32 PM yesterday after a problem occurred in the transformer's earthing system, causing excessive current flow. Electricity is supplied from this substation to Aabukhairani in Tanahun, Gorkha district, and some areas of Chitwan via Muglin. A technical team from Pokhara Grid Directorate was deployed to resolve the problem. Although the team brought the line back into operation at 12:45 AM, the transformer was shut down again at 6:47 AM today after the earthing system again showed problems, informed Beni Nepali, Information Officer of the Tanahun Distribution Center. According to her, efforts are underway to operate the electricity supply through an alternative line. Additionally, preparations are being made to repair the transformer if possible, or to change the transformer itself if necessary. Currently, the technical team from Pokhara Grid is present at the Markichok substation, carrying out repair and management work.
