Parliamentary Committees to Discuss Budget and Landless Citizens' Issues

Kathmandu. Discussions will be held in various thematic committees under the Federal Parliament focusing on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year and the issue of resolving the problems of landless citizens. The Finance Committee under the House of Representatives will consult with experts regarding the policy matters to be included in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2081/82.

In the meeting, economists and experts from the relevant fields will present their suggestions in favor of budget priorities and policy reforms to address the country's current economic challenges. The committee has intensified discussions with stakeholders on the eve of budget preparation.

Similarly, discussions on the management of landless citizens will be held in the meetings of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee and the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee under the National Assembly. Both committees have put on their agenda the review of the report received after monitoring the 'holding centers' where landless citizens have been temporarily kept and the situation there.

In the meeting, members will deliberate on the effectiveness of the holding centers, the living conditions of the citizens, and the steps to be taken for the long-term solution of the landless problem.

The Federalism Strengthening Committee will particularly emphasize how to address national concerns and the problems of the landless in accordance with the federal structure.
