Relief Teachers Demand Correction of MP Mahabir Pun's Statement

Kathmandu. Relief teachers have warned that the statement given by Member of Parliament Mahabir Pun in the House of Representatives on Jestha 30 regarding relief teachers is baseless, indecent, and regrettable, and have demanded its correction. 

Nepal Relief Teachers Central Committee Chairman Birendra Mall and General Secretary Dammar Rai issued a statement on Friday asking MP Pun to correct his statement. 

'The statement given by the honorable Mahabir Pun regarding relief teachers during the address to the Federal Parliament on Jestha 30, 2083, is extremely baseless, indecent, and regrettable, and that statement has deeply hurt the self-respect of the general relief teachers,' the committee's statement said.

Otherwise, the responsibility for the negative impact of the statement will lie with the concerned Pun, the statement warned. While speaking in parliament, MP Pun had said that relief teachers do not teach well and should be replaced by quotas in order to improve education.
