Madhesh Province Chief Minister to Seek Vote of Confidence Today

Janakpurdham. Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav is taking a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly today. For this, the Madhesh Province Assembly meeting has been called at 11 am.< /p>

After the Janamat Party, which is participating in the Madhesh Province government, withdrew its support to the government on Baisakh 22, Chief Minister Yadav is taking a vote of confidence as per the constitution. The Council of Ministers' meeting held on Baisakh 28 had decided to take a vote of confidence on Jestha 1.< /p>

According to legal provisions, the Chief Minister must take a vote of confidence within 30 days after a party participating in the government withdraws its support. Currently, there are 102 provincial assembly members in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly. Although the support of 52 members is required to sustain the government, it is said that the government currently has the support of 63 members.< /p>

The government has the support of 22 members from the Nepali Congress, 26 from the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, and 15 from the Nepal Communist Party.< /p>

Meanwhile, internal disputes have arisen within the Janamat Party after withdrawing support to the government. Although the party withdrew its support, the Minister of Finance Mahesh Prasad Yadav and the Minister of Social Welfare and Sports Basanta Kushwaha, who participated in the government from Janamat, are still in their posts.< /p>
