Industries Commence Production in Simra Special Economic Zone

Birgunj. Industries located in the Special Economic Zone Authority in Simra have started production. Industries have come into operation here after the government implemented the SEZ concept.

Although the Special Economic Zone Authority has 833 bighas of land under its jurisdiction, six industries have already started production in various blocks within a 343 bigha area.

Pappu Giri, Chief of the Special Economic Zone Authority in Simra, stated that more than half a dozen industries in the SEZ have already commenced production. "More than half a dozen industries in the SEZ premises are currently producing," he said, "More than a dozen industries are currently under construction."

Pashupati Ceramics Pvt. Ltd. in the SEZ has been producing ceramics-related goods and items. This industry is providing direct and indirect employment to approximately 450 people.

Similarly, Brillian Shoe Pvt. Ltd. is also producing footwear and sandals. Another industry in the premises, Balaji Manufacturing, is also engaged in production. Likewise, Nepal Agro Tools Company is also producing agriculture-related products.

ACM Vehicles has also established an industry here and is in production. The Special Economic Zone Authority has stated that a company named Bioculp Nepal is also in production. More than seven hundred people have received employment opportunities in the operational industries.

Ajay Kumar Chaudhary, Sub-Engineer at the Special Economic Zone Authority in Simra, informed that more than a dozen industries are currently under construction in the Simra SEZ. The average investment in SEZs ranges from two crore to two hundred crore rupees.

The provision is to operate industries by leasing land in the SEZ at a rate of Rs. five per square meter. Currently, industries such as Nepovite Ceramics Pvt. Ltd., Kavex Himalayan, Rainbow Agro, Omkar Granite Pvt. Ltd., Bawang Uiyang Biotechnology, Ladikar Pvt. Ltd., Ommeghashree Pvt. Ltd., Hulas Cable Pvt. Ltd., Matara Masala Udyog, Everest Masala Pvt. Ltd. are under construction in the SEZ.

Block 'A' has 343 bighas of land. More than half a dozen industries are currently operational here, while a dozen industries are under construction. Similarly, Block 'B' has an area of 128 bighas.

More than 70 percent of the land in Block 'B' is still under the authority's jurisdiction. Similarly, Block 'C' has 49.5 bighas of land. Block 'D' has 133 bighas and Block 'E' has 178.5 bighas of land.
