Baglung's Tarakhola Tea Wins Top Honors at National Competition

Baglung. Tea produced in Tarakhola Rural Municipality has set a new benchmark in quality. Two types of tea from Golden Tea Estate Pvt. Ltd. in Sirubari, Tarakhola Rural Municipality-1, secured first place in the 'Tea Testing' competition held in Ilam last Tuesday on the occasion of Tea Day.

The industry won in two categories of the taste testing competition, which was held in four categories and organized by the National Tea and Coffee Development Board.

Teas from 45 companies participated in the competition in Nepal. Nagendra Subedi of the Tea and Coffee Development Board, Pokhara, informed that Greenish Orthodox and Golden Tea were first in the Greenish Orthodox, Golden Tea, White Tea, and Green Tea categories.

Company director Shishir Ghartimagar said that it is a matter of pride that Tarakhola's tea has become excellent. He has been cultivating tea on approximately 100 ropanis of land in Tarakhola.

Subedi stated that these teas, produced in the tea garden spread at an altitude of approximately 2,200 to 2,400 meters above sea level, achieved excellence due to their high quality and distinct taste.
