Lumbini Buddhist University Vice-Chancellor Appointment Process Halted

Kathmandu. The appointment process of the Vice-Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University has been stopped. Even though the interview and presentation of the candidates shortlisted on Ashad 13 have been completed, the appointment has been stalled for 19 days.

The appointment process for the Vice-Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University, along with eight other universities, had happened simultaneously. Appointments in other universities were made on Ashad 19. An official from the Ministry of Education and Sports told Ratopati, 'The interview and presentation have been completed. We have compiled the numbers and submitted them. All processes have been completed from our side. The additional decision will be made by the committee. Then the Chancellor will appoint the Vice-Chancellor.'

Eleven people had applied for the post of Vice-Chancellor of Buddhist University. Out of these, 7 have been shortlisted. Those on the shortlist include Chandrakala Ghimire, Tilakram Acharya, Deepakprasad Acharya, Phanindrakumar Neupane, Yashodhara Bhetuwal, Sharada Poudel, and Surendraman Bajracharya.

The recommendation committee, chaired by Education Minister Sasmita Pokharel, also took the presentation and interview of the shortlisted candidates on the 13th.
