Asmita Khatri and Mahendra Malla Crowned Model of the Year at Traditional Designer Runway 2026

Kathmandu. Asmita Khatri and Mahendra Malla have won the 'Model of the Year' title at the first season of 'Traditional Designer Runway-2026'. In the grand finale held at Music City in Balkumari, Lalitpur, Asmita Khatri won the title in the female category, while Mahendra Malla secured it in the male category.

In this competition, Sudha Karki successfully won the Organizer's Choice Award. Similarly, Abhi Shrestha won the Public Viewer's Choice Award. More than a dozen contestants, selected through various audition rounds, showcased excellent outfits prepared by different designers during the grand finale.

The grand finale of this competition, organized by Dreamscape Production, was judged by Miss Nepal Usha Khadgi, media personality Aruna Bhattarai, senior dentist and Mrs. Vogue Nepal Dr. Sumi Malla, NK Sharad, and makeup artist Moment Shah Karki.

Conducted with various entertainment performances, the choreography for this competition was handled by the head of the organizing institution, Eva Chhetri. The competition featured participation from fashion designers and models representing various ethnic groups, traditions, languages, and costumes of Nepal.
