Kaski Police Conduct Sweep Operation, Arrest Over 122 Individuals in Pokhara

Pokhara. Kaski Police have conducted a sweep operation. During the operation on Wednesday night, more than 122 people were arrested in a single night. Information Officer Ganesh Pandey stated that the police coordinated with various subordinate units to carry out the operation to maintain peace and security and control undesirable activities.

According to him, they were taken into custody from various parts of Pokhara. Among those arrested, the highest number, 39, were from the Baidam area. Similarly, 22 people were arrested from Rambazar, 12 from Bagar, 38 from the Sisuwa area, and 11 from the areas around Prithvichowk.

Most of those arrested were found to be involved in drug (marijuana) use. 82 people were found consuming marijuana. In addition, the police also took into custody those causing public disturbances, obstructing the public, disrupting peace, and causing noise pollution by riding motorcycles recklessly.

Pandey stated that those arrested will be counseled and handed over to their families. 'Looking at their condition and activities, we have decided to counsel them for the first time,' he said, 'We are handing them over to their guardians with a commitment that they will not engage in such activities in the future.'
