CPN-UML Demands High-Level Probe into Home Minister's Alleged Ties with Middleman

Kathmandu. The CPN-UML has demanded the formation of a high-level mechanism to conduct an impartial and independent investigation into issues including the connection between Home Minister Sudan Kirati and middleman Deepak Bhatta. On Tuesday, UML Press Coordinator Min Bahadur Shahi issued a statement making the party's position public.

The UML stated that the issues made public regarding the Home Minister not only raise suspicions but also indicate that the mysteries of potential irregularities and anomalies of the past could gradually be uncovered.

'The CPN (UML) strongly demands that an impartial and independent investigation process be initiated into matters related to the Home Minister,' the UML said, 'For this, the CPN (UML) clearly states – the investigation must be kept free from any kind of power or influence.'

The UML also demands that a high-level mechanism be formed to investigate all matters involving the Home Minister and that the investigation process be started immediately. 'Furthermore, we demand that the Home Minister himself immediately pave the way to make the investigation process smooth, impartial, and free from influence without any delay or cover-up,' the UML stated.
