CAAN Initiates Review of Excessive Parking Fees at Airports Nationwide

Kathmandu. Following widespread complaints regarding exorbitant parking fees at Tribhuvan International Airport and other airports across the country, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has initiated a process to review the charges.

After receiving continuous feedback from airport users, passengers, and airline staff that the parking fees were impractical and expensive, the authority formed a committee on Monday to revise the rates, acting under the directive of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

According to the authority, a five-member committee led by Binod Prasad Neupane, Acting Deputy Director General of CAAN, has been established to address the issues in fee determination and public grievances.

The committee has been tasked with studying the current state of parking fees and submitting a report with recommendations for necessary revisions within three days.
