Machhindra FC to Face N Penang in Ilam Gold Cup 2083

Ilam. In the ongoing 3rd International Invitational Ilam Gold Cup 2083 at Ilam's Thulo Tundikhel, Machhindra Football Club Kathmandu and N Penang Malaysia are set to face each other today.

Machhindra, which clinched the title of the 7th Jhapa Gold Cup in Falgun with a prize purse of 1.5 million, is considered a strong contender for the title. Meanwhile, Malaysia's N Penang is entering the field with African players.

When these two teams met previously in the Jhapa Gold Cup, Machhindra defeated N Penang 2–1. Having lost to Machhindra in their first encounter, N Penang is looking for revenge in the Ilam match.

Previously, Machhindra had lifted the title of Ilam's 7th Mai Valley Gold Cup. Today's match between the two strong teams is expected to be highly competitive and exciting for the spectators.

On the second day of the Ilam Gold Cup, Rolling Club Dhulabari Jhapa defeated Phidim Sporting 3–0.

In the opening match of the tournament, which began on 05 Baishakh, Pathari 11 Morang made a winning start by stunning the organizers, Red Horse Football Club. Rolling Club and Pathari 11 have entered the semifinals.

The winner of the tournament, which concludes on 12 Baishakh, will receive 1 million rupees along with a trophy, medals, and certificates. The runner-up will receive 500,000 rupees along with a trophy, medals, and certificates.

The tournament, primarily sponsored by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), features eight domestic and foreign teams. The participating teams include Nepal's prominent clubs such as Machhindra Football Club, New Road Team (NRT), Chitlang Football Club, Phidim Sporting Panchthar, Rolling Club Jhapa, and the organizers, Red Horse Club.

Additionally, Malaysia's N Penang FC and India's Georgian Football Club Kalimpong are participating in this edition.
