Transit Visas Approved for Nepali Citizens Stranded in Kuwait via Saudi Arabia

Kathmandu. Nepali citizens in Kuwait facing difficulties returning home due to cancelled visas and civil IDs have been granted transit visas to return to Nepal via Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement issued by the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait on Thursday, transit visa facilitation has been arranged for Nepali citizens who are unable to return to Nepal due to the closure of Kuwaiti airspace, including those holding Visa 1 or Visa 14, or those whose visas/civil IDs have been cancelled.

The Embassy stated that the transit visas for Saudi Arabia have been approved for the Nepali citizens listed among those who applied to the Embassy. Given the limited duration of the transit visa, approved citizens are urged to proceed with their travel plans via Saudi Arabia as soon as possible.

According to the Embassy, passengers traveling from Kuwait will be provided with transit visas at the Nuwaiseeb or Salmi border crossings in Saudi Arabia. Similarly, for passengers traveling from Iraq, transit visas will be provided at the respective Iraq-Saudi border crossings.

The statement further clarifies that the transit visa is valid for 7 days, and entry into Saudi Arabia must be completed by 23 April 2026. Once inside Saudi Arabia, travelers must depart the country within 3 days, the Embassy clarified.

The Embassy has requested all concerned Nepali citizens to complete their travel procedures within the specified timeframe.
