Amputee Runway Nepal 2026: Celebrating Confidence and Identity

Kathmandu. With the message that beauty lies not just in the body, but in confidence and identity, Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 was held grandly in Durbarmarg. Organized by the Nirmala Foundation, this special event held at Club Platinum on Saturday evening saw over 20 individuals with physical disabilities take to the runway to showcase their confidence.

'From the Sidelines to the Spotlight,' this fashion show was not just a ramp walk but a celebration of capability and inner strength. Globally, the month of April is observed as Limb Loss Awareness Month. The organizers stated that the event, held to mark this occasion, aimed to change society's perspective toward individuals using prosthetics and to spread awareness.

Participants were provided with special training, grooming, and personality development classes for two weeks leading up to the event. As men, women, and other participants from various professions and backgrounds showcased their designer outfits while presenting their prosthetics not as a weakness but as a strength, the audience appeared highly enthusiastic. Participants also shared their life struggles, talents, and unwavering determination through their stories.

Additionally, the program provided technical information on the proper care and management of prosthetic limbs. According to the organizers, this platform has challenged the social norm that equates beauty solely with physical structure.
