Senior Composer Shambhujit Baskota Honored with Vindhyabasini Lifetime Achievement Award 2082

Kathmandu. Senior composer Shambhujit Baskota has been honored with the Vindhyabasini Lifetime Achievement Award 2082, which includes a cash prize of 100,000 rupees. The award was presented to Baskota during the 16th edition of the Vindhyabasini Music Awards held in the capital on Friday evening.

During the event, lyricist Bijay Shivakoti was presented with the Vindhyabasini Sangeet Sadhana Award with 50,000 rupees, singer Rachana Rimal received the Premdhwoj Sangeet Ratna Award with 25,000 rupees, folk singer Pashupati Sharma was honored with the Jhalakman Folk Music Award, and journalist Pawan Acharya received the Vindhyabasini Art Journalism Award.

The event, organized by the Vindhyabasini Foundation at the National Cultural Corporation in Jamal, distributed awards across 12 categories. In the awards, Shiva Pariyar was declared the best male singer for the song 'Pareli', while Samiksha Adhikari was named the best female singer for 'Ke Hereko Tulutulu'. Shiva Hamal was declared the best composer for 'Mirmirema Baseko Bhale', and Bhupendra Budhathoki was named the best lyricist for 'Pardeshi Hunai Man Chaina'.

In the folk-duet category, Arjun Sapkota was named the best male singer for 'Jhaliko' and Jyoti Magar was named the best female singer for 'Jhyappai Aaye Bahun Dai'. In the music video category, Prabatpal Thakuri and Gita Dhungana were declared the best model duo for 'Kata Hidyo Saila', while Bikram Chauhan was chosen as the best director for 'Mayalai Panko Paat'.

Similarly, Buddha Thapa was awarded best cinematographer for 'Ae Aama Jaam Bhanyo Malai', Deepak Bista received the best music video award for 'Baishale Jurukka Paryo', and Ritu Bohara was awarded the New Talent Award for 'Sangeetkar Tatha Paisa Jogauna'. All winners in these categories were awarded a cash prize of 5,000 rupees each.
