Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle and Chinese Ambassador Zhang Mao-ming Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Nepal, His Excellency Zhang Mao-ming, held a courtesy meeting.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Finance, various dimensions of economic and diplomatic relations between the two countries were discussed, according to Chinese Ambassador Zhang Mao-ming. 

The meeting between the Finance Minister and the Ambassador focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the banking sector, connectivity, tourism, and the recently emerging field of artificial intelligence. 

Both sides expressed a shared commitment to further strengthening connectivity between Nepal and China and advancing bilateral relations toward a path of practical, efficient, and sustainable development. 

Ambassador Mao-ming stated on social media that the meeting was very productive, saying, ‘We had a meaningful discussion on cooperating in areas such as banking, connectivity, tourism, and artificial intelligence. We are committed to making Nepal-China relations more practical and sustainable.’

The meeting is expected to further increase Chinese assistance and investment in Nepal's digital infrastructure and economic development in the coming days.
