Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar 2' Shatters Box Office Records, Nears All-Time High

Mumbai. Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh's latest film 'Dhurandhar 2' has created a tsunami at the Indian box office. Within 20 days of its release, the film has achieved historic success by grossing a net collection of 1,033.37 crore INR in India alone.

With this earnings, 'Dhurandhar 2' has surpassed the domestic collection of S.S. Rajamouli's evergreen blockbuster 'Baahubali 2' (1,030.42 crore). Now, only the record of Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2' remains ahead of this film.

'Dhurandhar 2' is still 200.63 crore behind the record for the highest-grossing film in India. 'Pushpa 2' has a total net collection of 1,234.10 crore in India. In terms of global business, this Ranveer starrer has grossed 1,641.21 crore so far, with a contribution of 404 crore from overseas markets.

According to box office analysis, the film has shown immense strength in the Hindi-speaking regions. It has earned 960.54 crore from the Hindi market alone, which is nearly equivalent to the Hindi version of 'Pushpa 2'.

However, the film did not perform as expected in the South Indian states. Compared to 'Pushpa 2', which earned 511.70 crore in South India, 'Dhurandhar 2' has lagged behind, indicating a reliance on the Hindi market to bridge the gap.

Entering its third week, there has been no slowdown in the film's earnings. On Tuesday, its 20th day, it earned 10.10 crore. Released on March 19, the film had an opening of 102.55 crore on its first day.

Notably, it surpassed the lifetime collection of its first installment in just 10 days, setting a record as the fastest Indian film to reach the 1000 crore mark globally.

'Dhurandhar 2' has crossed all milestones from 100 crore to 1000 crore in India in the shortest time. Additionally, it has set a new global standard by becoming the first Indian film to earn 25 million dollars in North America and 1 million euros in Germany. Given its current momentum, it is expected to surpass 'Pushpa 2' in a few days to claim the title of India's biggest blockbuster.
