Nine arrested in Lalitpur for operating online gambling ring

Kathmandu. Police have arrested 9 individuals on charges of operating online gambling from the Cityscape Apartment in Hattiban, Lalitpur. Among those arrested are 3 Indian nationals.

SP Manohar Bhatta of the Valley Crime Investigation Office told Ratopati that they were arrested on Tuesday from two blocks of the apartment. The arrested include 35-year-old Chetan Yadav, 33-year-old Ashish Sharma, and 21-year-old Raunak Singh from India, along with 26-year-old Sujan Dawadi from East Nawalparasi, 24-year-old Niroj Rana from Tanahun, and 26-year-old Ashish Regmi from Kaski.

Similarly, police have arrested 26-year-old Hardik Pokharel from Dang, 25-year-old Suresh Parajuli from Lamjung, and 26-year-old Yogendra Kunwar from Doti. 

SP Bhatta stated that the accused were found to have conducted transactions worth 312.434 million rupees. Police seized 8 laptops, 24 mobile phones, and 31 SIM cards from the online betting gang. The Valley Crime Investigation Office has sent the suspects to the District Police Range, Jawalakhel, for further investigation.
