CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel Demands Government Clarification on Foreign Debt

Kathmandu. CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has demanded a clear stance from the government regarding foreign debt.

He wrote on social media: 'Taking loans for sustainable infrastructure development is not just a compulsion for Nepal, but a necessity. However, it is natural for questions to arise when those who previously criticized the former government for sinking the country with foreign debt are now taking large amounts of loans without clearly presenting the government's policies, programs, and priorities in Parliament.'

He further added: 'Why the opposition yesterday? Why the acceptance today? It is necessary for the government to provide a clear and transparent answer to the public regarding this.'
