CNI and National Statistics Office Sign MOU to Enhance Economic Data Collaboration

Kathmandu. The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and the National Statistics Office have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at supporting the collection, analysis, research, and policy formulation of reliable data related to the national economy.

High-quality and timely data are essential for the country's economic development, industrial expansion, and effective policy formulation. This agreement aligns with the strategy to strengthen the national strategy for statistical system development, enhance data quality by improving the collection, analysis, and utilization of economic activities related to the private sector, and foster coordination between government agencies and private sector organizations.

At a program held at the National Statistics Office on Monday, the agreement was signed by the Office's Director, Dr. Bed Prasad Dhakal, and the CNI's Director General, Dr. Ghanshyam Ojha, in the presence of Office Chief Dr. Kamal Prasad Pokhrel and CNI President Birendraraj Pandey. 

On the occasion, CNI President Pandey stated that this collaboration would help strengthen the collection, analysis, and utilization of economic data related to the private sector. Statistics Office Chief Dr. Pokhrel noted that the cooperation between the public and private sectors would be instrumental in developing the statistical system, improving the quality of national economic data, and expanding its application. 

According to the agreement, the CNI and the Office will collaborate on national economic censuses, the development of private sector statistical systems, research and policy studies, data exchange, capacity building, and public awareness initiatives.
