Weather Forecast: Monsoon Affects Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati; Expansion Expected

Kathmandu. Currently, the monsoon trough is affecting all areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, some parts of Gandaki province, and some parts of the eastern region of Lumbini province.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the western and local winds have a partial influence in the remaining areas. There is a possibility of monsoon expanding to the remaining parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and all areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces within the next four to five days.

Currently, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country are generally cloudy, while the Terai regions are partly cloudy. Light rain with thunderstorms is occurring in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

The Department has stated that the mountainous and hilly regions of the country, as well as the Terai regions of Madhesh and Koshi provinces, will be generally cloudy this afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall in some places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with snowfall in the high mountainous regions.

The Department has informed that moderate rainfall with thunderstorms may occur in some places in the Terai of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, and in one or two places in the Terai of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

The Department has urged to take necessary precautions as there is a possibility of hot winds blowing in some places in the Terai of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Similarly, it is forecasted that Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will be generally cloudy tonight, while Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will be partly cloudy.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in some places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in some places in the mountainous and hilly parts of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
