Kalimati Market Sets Wholesale Prices for Agricultural Produce

Kathmandu. Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee has determined the maximum wholesale price of agricultural produce for today. According to the committee, the wholesale price per kilo is Rs 60 for large tomatoes (Nepali), Rs 10 for small tomatoes (local), Rs 20 for small tomatoes (tunnel), Rs 38 for red potatoes (long), Rs 35 for red potatoes (round), Rs 35 for red potatoes (mud), Rs 30 for red potatoes (Indian), Rs 30 for white potatoes, and Rs 52 for dry onions (Indian).

Similarly, the prices set are Rs 100 per kilo for carrots (local), Rs 60 for cabbage (local), Rs 120 for cauliflower (local), Rs 30 for red radish, Rs 20 for white radish (hybrid), Rs 20 for long eggplant, and Rs 30 for round eggplant.

According to the committee, the prices per kilo are Rs 35 for beans (climbing), Rs 50 for corn beans, Rs 200 for peas, Rs 50 for green beans (local), Rs 50 for green beans (hybrid), Rs 80 for green beans (rajma), Rs 60 for striped beans, Rs 100 for soybean pods, Rs 40 for bitter gourd, Rs 40 for bottle gourd, Rs 40 per kilo for parwal (local), Rs 40 per kilo for parwal (Terai), Rs 30 for snake gourd, Rs 40 for ridge gourd, Rs 50 for zucchini, Rs 60 for ripe pumpkin, Rs 50 for green pumpkin (long), Rs 35 for green pumpkin (round), Rs 30 for okra, Rs 120 for sweet potato, and Rs 100 for taro, and Rs 40 for chayote.

Mustard greens are priced at Rs 40 per kilo, spinach at Rs 60, cress at Rs 60, mustard greens at Rs 50, green onions at Rs 150, button mushrooms at Rs 280, oyster mushrooms at Rs 500, king oyster mushrooms at Rs 300, and enoki mushrooms at Rs 1,000.

Asparagus is priced at Rs 300 per kilo, fiddlehead fern at Rs 100 per kilo, broccoli at Rs 100 per kilo, beetroot at Rs 70 per kilo, moringa at Rs 250 per kilo, red cabbage at Rs 40 per kilo, Jiriko sag at Rs 90 per kilo, celery at Rs 160 per kilo, parsley at Rs 350 per kilo, fennel leaves at Rs 70 per kilo, mint at Rs 200 per kilo, gante moola at Rs 60 per kilo, tamarind at Rs 180 per kilo, bamboo shoot at Rs 160 per kilo, tofu at Rs 160, and Gundruk at Rs 350.

Apples (Fuji) are priced at Rs 300 per kilo, bananas (Nepali) at Rs 250 per dozen, bananas (Malbhog) at Rs 200, lemons at Rs 200 per kilo, pomegranates at Rs 420 per kilo, mangoes (Maldah) at Rs 90 per kilo, mangoes (Dasheri) at Rs 100 per kilo, watermelons (green) at Rs 60 per kilo, oranges at Rs 230 per kilo, pineapples at Rs 200 per piece, cucumbers (local) at Rs 70 per kilo, cucumbers (hybrid) at Rs 30 per kilo, cucumbers (local cross) at Rs 60 per kilo, jackfruit at Rs 50 per kilo, pears (Chinese) at Rs 250 per kilo, papayas (Nepali) at Rs 90 per kilo, papayas (Indian) at Rs 120 per kilo, lychees (local) at Rs 200, lychees (Indian) at Rs 300, coconuts (raw) at Rs 80 per kilo, and coconuts (green) at Rs 170 per kilo.

Similarly, ginger is priced at Rs 140 per kilo, dried chilies at Rs 500 per kilo, green chilies (long) at Rs 40 per kilo, green chilies (bullet) at Rs 30 per kilo, bird's eye chilies at Rs 50 per kilo, Akbare chilies at Rs 300 per kilo, Bhede chilies at Rs 80 per kilo, green garlic at Rs 200 per kilo, green coriander at Rs 150 per kilo, dried garlic (Chinese) at Rs 220 per kilo, dried garlic (Nepali) at Rs 180 per kilo, dried fish at Rs 1,000 per kilo, fresh fish (Rahu) at Rs 340 per kilo, fresh fish (Bachuwa) at Rs 300 per kilo, and fresh fish (Chhadi) at Rs 250 per kilo.
