National Assembly Receives Indigenous Nationalities Commission Report and Mourns Former Member

Kathmandu. The annual report of the 'Indigenous Nationalities Commission for the fiscal year 2081/82' has been presented to the National Assembly. In today's meeting, Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, presented the report on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

Similarly, today's National Assembly meeting passed a condolence motion on the passing of former member Ramchandra Bhattarai. The motion, presented by Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, was passed unanimously by the assembly.

Bhattarai, born on Ashoj 9, 1998 BS, passed away on Magh 13 at the age of 84. A leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), Bhattarai served as a member of the National Assembly in 2056 BS.

Following the unanimous passage of the condolence motion, a minute of silence was observed to pay tribute to his passing. The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held on Chaitra 25, 2082 BS, Wednesday at 1:15 PM.
