NEPSE to Open on Fridays Following Government's Two-Day Weekend Decision

Kathmandu. With the government declaring a two-day public holiday on Saturday and Sunday, the stock market will now remain open on Fridays.

A meeting of the NEPSE Board of Directors held on Sunday evening decided that stock trading will take place from Monday to Friday, according to NEPSE Chief Executive Officer Chudamani Chapagain.

He stated that since the government decided to grant public holidays on Saturday and Sunday, NEPSE has decided to open stock trading on Fridays accordingly.

CEO Chapagain mentioned that this decision will be effective from this week. He noted that the stock market will now remain closed on Sundays. Although the decision was made to open the market on Friday instead of Sunday, the trading hours will remain unchanged from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Previously, stock trading was conducted from Sunday to Thursday.
