Dhangadhi Metropolis Presents Budget Exceeding 2.5 Billion for Fiscal Year 2083/84

Dhangadhi. Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis has presented a budget of over two and a half billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. Deputy Mayor Kandakala Kumari Rana presented the income-expenditure statement of a total of 2 Arba 64 Crore 64 Lakh 64 Thousand 464 Rupees at the 15th session of the Municipal Assembly held on Sunday.

Out of the allocated budget, 1 Arba 43 Crore 63 Lakh 87 Thousand 781 Rupees is estimated for current expenditure and 1 Arba 23 Crore 76 Lakh 683 Rupees for capital expenditure.

For the source management of this budget, the sub-metropolis has set a target to collect 55 Crore 10 Lakh Rupees from internal income. Similarly, 60 Crore 45 Lakh from revenue sharing, 1 Arba 6 Crore from the financial transfer of the federal government, and 14 Crore 22 Lakh Rupees are expected to be received from the provincial government.

The insufficient amount will be managed from the savings of the current fiscal year, informed Deputy Mayor Rana. During the budget speech, she reviewed the expenses of the past fiscal years and also presented the expenditure details until Jestha of the current fiscal year to the Municipal Assembly.

The upcoming year's budget has given special priority to the expansion of the city bus service to further systematize the city's transportation system.

In addition to the currently operating routes, bus services will now be expanded on the Dhangadhi-Kanari-Rampur-Chaumala, Dhangadhi, Pathari-Banbehada, Dhangadhi-Beli-Jugeda, and Dhangadhi-Ghodsuwa-Syaule routes. Furthermore, the budget has given special emphasis to city pride projects, sustainable infrastructure development, street light management, and night tourism promotion.

In the education and health sectors, the sub-metropolis has continued its old effective programs. The 'Padhdai Sikhdai' program to connect students with skills, improving the educational quality of community schools, and the Friday skill development program have been prioritized for the upcoming year as well. In health, the budget mentions further strengthening the specialist ward health clinic and the 'Aama Bachau' program.

Similarly, to strengthen the foundation of sports, grassroots football and cricket development will be continued. For environmental conservation and urban beautification, the budget includes campaigns such as 'Hamro Dhangadhi, Saph Dhangadhi', 'Ujyalo Dhangadhi', and 'Jaha Khali, Tyaha Hariyali'.

The sub-metropolis has adopted a policy to organize skill and employment fairs for job creation and to make the deployment of city police more effective. Before presenting the budget, Deputy Mayor Rana also made public the policy and programs for the upcoming fiscal year at the Municipal Assembly.
