Army Team Triumphs in Friendly Football Match Against Defense Journalists

Kathmandu. The Directorate of Public Relations and Information (DPR) team emerged victorious in a friendly football match held today against the defense journalists.

In the match played at the Army Headquarters, Jangi Adda, the army team won by a margin of 4-1 goals. For the directorate, Major Bijay Pandey scored two goals, while Lieutenant Colonel Upan Karki and Technical Jamadar Basanta Oli scored one goal each.

Dipesh KC scored a consolation goal for the defense journalists' team. The directorate's team was captained by Brigadier General Rajaram Basnet, while the journalists' team was led by captain Deepak Rijal.

In the competition, the army team played in green jerseys, while the journalists' team wore blue. The match was inaugurated by Major General Prem Pun, Director General of Military Training, who handed over the football to the referee.

The match was organized to mark the anniversary of the Directorate of Public Relations and Information. The directorate was established on 2058 Chaitra 20. The directorate has been organizing such competitions with the aim of further strengthening the relationship between the army and media personnel.
